News Round Up – Monday 22nd January, 2018

Hey fam! The big news of the week is the kick off for the 2nd leg of the HSBC World Seven Series being hosted in Sydney, Australia which starts on Friday 26th and will be live on Sky Sport Pop Up 3 (Channel 57) all day.

This will be the only offical 7’s tournament for the women’s teams before the Commonwealth Games which kick off on April 13 and play through until April 15 in Brisbane, Australia.

You can find the fixtures list here.

Our Black Ferns 7’s team has been named here.

COME SAY HELLO!

If you live in Christchurch, I will be organising a get together on Saturday 27th January to watch all the play-offs at the Hornby Football Club (pending approval from the club).

There will be drinks and nibbles provided and lots of alternative commentary for the games as well.

So if you would like to come along message me and I will add your name to the list.

There will also be an event page you can register on as well.

THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT.

Over the past few weeks I have noticed that all the various rugby clubs around the country are recruiting for the upcoming 2018 season with their separate Facebook pages and putting out the call for new players.

Would anyone be interested in an app where you just filled in your details for who you were (your club details), when your training was and a facility to message everyone in your team if something was rescheduled?

I’m currently working on an idea for this particular app as it relates to women’s rugby and would like some feedback on what to include/not to include.

Here’s a short questionnaire to gauge everyones interest.

That’s it from me for now.
